(Un)settled

The proliferation of photographs and video footage of war torn countries and the desolate conditions of refugee camps has led to a desensitisation of the refugee crisis. I visited the largest refugee camp in Europe known as the Calais ‘Jungle’ before and after the demolition of the south side of the camp. My aim was to show the humanity of the people,  a humanity lost through the constant barrage of images and political discussion. What I found was a community coming together in an attempt to reconstruct a normality left behind.
